FPCTA is currently seeking to hire teaching artists for it educational programming.  We are seeking preschool specialists, performing arts specialists (Stage, Dance, Music, Film) and Technical Theatre Specialists (Costume, Lighting, Set, and Sound Design as well as Film and Animation Specialists).

AAMU PARTNERSHIP

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy in partnership with Alabama A&M University is currently seeking to hire teaching artists for its summer educational programming. If you’re an AAMU student interested in applying for a summer position, fill out the form below.

Completion of this form does not guarantee employment with FPCTA. However, it is the first step in the hiring process for AAMU Students interested in summer employment in 2024.

Royal Roster

Interested in joining a dedicated team who represent FPCTA at public facing and private events? Our Royal Roster team members have the opportunity to receive character acting training, participate in parades, community events, private gigs, wear hand picked costumes. from our renowned costume shop, and MORE! Candidates must be 16 years or older. Theatre experience/training is a plus.

Magic Makers

 Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy (FPCTA) is hosting an OPEN CALL for all local theatre directors and designers. Local artists familiar with or brand new to FPCTA may apply to participate in our 63rd Season and beyond through our resident Magic Maker program. FPCTA Magic Makers create great theatre experiences for our community and FPCTA is looking to expand our creative family to include new voices and perspectives. We believe kindness, inclusion, communication, curiosity, and care should be the foundation of a creative process. If these values align with your artistic practice, we want to work with you and support your creativity!

Select perks provided by FPCTA: 

• An overall creative budget of $10,000 minimum (all expenses overseen by the Artistic Director) 

• Free Rehearsal and Studio space when available for the duration of the residency. 

• Audition and Casting Support: Advertising, administration, free space for auditions and callbacks

• Professional Production Photos for Portfolio 

• A top-notch producing team to coordinate all rehearsals, tech, and performances 

• Full costumes, scenery, props for project with access to FPCTA shops, sewing room, and stock. 

• FPCTA Mainstage is a volunteer driven program with a 62 year history. This residency does not include an artist stipend, but covers full production budget funding, access to all FPCTA resources, and in-kind support wherever it is needed to execute a successful production.
